Dipsy Doodling Around Depression

Sunday, November 29, 2009

oops!

I kind of got posts out of order. I do a whole bunch ahead of time and I guess I pushed some wrong buttons today. So, the past three posts will be coming up again, when I post them in the order I had intended.

Thanks for understanding.

WELCOME!

“Another blog about depression? What makes this one any different?” It is different because I am the author and I am different from anybody else in the whole world. So are you! Depression is not a melting pot. We may have it in common, but we are still individuals. The fact that you are reading this blog proves that you have not lost all hope that there is something more you can learn to help you navigate the dark and choppy waters of depression. That is what dipsy doodling on this blog can do for you. You will receive information, encouragement, humour and stories that I pray will touch your heart. You may even make a new friend!

Together we will
LIVE, SHARE,
LAUGH, CARE,
LEARN, DISCOVER,
FORGIVE, RECOVER

About Me

My name is Wendy Love. I live with bipolar depression and it lives with me. However, it is not who I am. I am a christian who believes in a loving God and in the power of prayer. As a retired teacher, self-employed artist and now a writer, I tend to be analytical, introspective and creative. I am not an expert but just someone who lives with depression and wants to share some of the things I am learning on the journey. My retired husband and I live in the countryside near a small town in Ontario. Between us we have five grown children and three grandchildren. My idea of fun is a a quiet house, a cup of tea and a good book.

About 'Us'

I had to include a picture of me with my husband, for if it wasn't for him, I may not even be writing this blog and enjoying life as much as I do. This man is not only my husband and friend, but also my caregiver, watching my moods, coaching me and encouraging me. Without his support, my irrational and unstable tendencies would get me into all sorts of trouble. We had this photograph taken for our new church directory so it was free! As we sat for the photographer, she said to me "lean into your husband". Then she said to him "tilt your head towards your wife". For a moment the troubles of the world disappeared with that physical contact. All couples should do a little more leaning and tilting...I recommend it!
